When DTG Printing Is the Right Choice

01

Complex Artwork

Designs with photographic detail, complex gradients, many colours or fine lines that would require 9+ screens for screen printing are ideal candidates for DTG. No design complexity restrictions.

02

Smaller Runs

DTG is cost-effective for runs of 100-300 units where the screen setup cost of screen printing would be proportionally high.

03

Personalisation

Numbered jerseys, personalised names and individual variations within a single order are all possible with DTG since each print is produced digitally without a screen.

FAQ

DTG, answered.

What fabrics work best for DTG printing?

100% cotton and high-cotton blends (80% cotton and above) produce the best DTG results. Polyester garments are not suitable for DTG — sublimation printing is the recommended method for polyester.

How does DTG compare to screen printing?

DTG offers unlimited colours and photographic detail but is slower per unit than screen printing. Screen printing is more cost-effective for large runs of 300+ units with simple designs. We recommend the best method for your specific artwork and quantity during the quoting process.
